For too long, Certified Nursing Assistants have been introduced as “just a CNA.” This movement exists to replace those words with confidence, dignity, and excellence.

Meet the Author Behind the Movement
Julio Heredia, LPN
U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman • U.S. Army Medic • Former CNA • LPN • Author
Julio Heredia’s commitment to healthcare and service began in the U.S. military, where he served as a Navy Hospital Corpsman and Army Medic. Those experiences shaped the discipline, leadership, and commitment to service that continue to guide him today.
After military service, Julio continued his healthcare journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant before becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse and moving into nursing leadership. With more than 24 years in healthcare, he understands the people, pressures, and realities behind bedside care.
He wrote I’m Just a CNA to restore pride in the CNA title, strengthen professionalism, and remind CNAs that the work they do every day matters.
